“Roasted” Banana-Raspberry Energy Smoothie

1 banana
1 cup vanilla almond milk, soy milk or dairy milk (I prefer unsweetened)
½ cup low-fat plain Greek yogurt
1/3 cup whole oats
½ cup frozen or fresh raspberries or strawberries (do not thaw if frozen)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup ice cubes
Instructions:

Cut up 1 banana and microwave it in a bowl until soft and fragrant, 30 to 40 seconds.

Add milk, yogurt, oats, berries, vanilla, ice, and hot banana (in that order) to a blender. Blend on high, 30 to 45 seconds, until smooth.

Yield:
2 large or 3 small smoothies
