“Years ago, I worked for Disney, where legend had it that no theme park visitor was ever more than 30 steps from a trash can—because Walt Disney believed that people would, on average, hold on to a piece of trash for only 30 steps before littering. Whether or not this is true, I take that principle—making the good choice the easy choice—and apply it to my health and fitness goals. I’ve learned that if there’s too much distance between me and a wise decision, I can’t be trusted to make it—especially when I’m tired, cranky, or overworked (and with four kids and a full-time job, that’s just about always).”
