Chopped, But Not Forgotten!

Thanks to everyone who was able to watch “Chopped” last night on Food Network as I competed alongside my fellow past winners of “Food Network Star” in hopes winning $10,000 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Your outpouring of support on social media was amazing, and I am so appreciative for all your kind words and encouragement.

Those baskets were tough to say the least, but I was honored to raise the volume on an issue that continues to affect so many of us yet is often not discussed. After making it through to the dessert round, I was of course disappointed not to have won the $10,000 prize but so proud to have represented AFSP and hopeful that my being there helped even one viewer in need. If you haven’t already, click here to read about my work with AFSP as well as the personal story I wrote about my mom. Also, for anyone who missed it, the episode of “Chopped” will re-air on Tuesday, July 24th at 10pm ET/PT on Food Network.

Despite not being crowned the “Chopped” champion, I still want to give back to AFSP. So, I’ve decided to make a donation – and you can help, here’s how:

I will personally donate $5 for every one of my cookbooks pre-ordered July 23-30 through FoodNetworkStore.com. So place your order today, and pay just $14.99 including shipping (regularly $24.99) for the book – knowing that you are helping to raise money for AFSP at the same time. You can find out lots more about the book here.

If you’d like to donate directly to AFSP, visit www.AFSP.org and click DONATE NOW.
