My Partnership with Home Instead Senior Care

Many readers already know I’m a big supporter of family dinners. In our house, family dinners are more than just providing my loved ones with a healthy meal, they are our devoted time each day to being together. But did you know your children aren’t the only ones who benefit from a devoted mealtime? For seniors, a family meal is vital to healthy aging! Research shows it’s critical to quality nutrition, medication management and preventing feelings of isolation.

To help encourage families to bring back the Sunday dinner and commit to having a sit-down meal with their loved ones, I’ve partnered with the Home Instead Senior Care to support their Sunday Dinner Pledge campaign. We’ve created a few simple, healthy recipes and compiled tips on how to involve seniors in meal planning and preparation as well as pre- and post-dinner activities to make the most of your multigenerational dinner.

Please help me reignite this family tradition by visiting www.SundayDinnerPledge.com and committing to holding a family meal at least once a month. For all of you that pledge, the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation® will donate $1 to Meals on Wheels in the U.S., up to $20,000. This means your pledge will not only bring your family together, but also help bring nutritious meals to other seniors.

To give you some inspiration for your own family meal, I’ve created a few simple, healthy recipes that will be a hit with all generations. Check out my newest recipe for Slow Cooker Pot Roast with Potatoes and Carrots onSundayDinnerPledge.com.
